Summer Fungicide Trials

Summer fungicide trial protocols can be submitted a number of ways. The easiest and most common method is to email them to Paul Koch (plkoch@wisc.edu) along with which disease trial the treatments are to be included in. Protocols should include the treatment names, formulation, concentration, and rate of product to be applied. Protocols can also be submitted by mail, fax, or in person at the OJ Noer Turfgrass Research and Educational Facility. Protocols to be included in the summer disease trials will be accepted at any time during the year, but to be included in the upcoming season must be received by May 15th. Treatments to be included in the “Early season dollar spot” and “Preventative fairy ring” trials must be received by April 15th. Product to be tested should also be received at the OJ Noer Center by May 15th, addressed to either the Turfgrass Diagnostic Lab or the Department of Plant Pathology.

Additional space is available testing that might not fit in any of the standard summer trials. Please contact Paul Koch for more information.

Snow Mold Fungicide Trials

Snow mold fungicide trial protocols can be received in the same manner as listed for the summer trials. Snow mold protocols will also be accepted at any point during the year, but to be included in the upcoming season need to be received by September 24th. Included in the protocol should be the treatment names, formulation, concentration, rate of product to be applied, and application timing (early, late, or both).  Early and late applications are made 3-4 weeks apart, with the late application designed to be made shortly before snow cover at each site.
